Responsible for a $1.5+ million budget. Supervised 6 professional & 5 full-time staff [1 AD, 5 Coordinators, 3 Program Assts, 2 Secretaries, 11 GAs, 50+ paid students & many volunteers]

Supervised Campus Entertainment, Student Activities, Games Room, Leadership, FSU Art Center, Campus Dances, Special Events; Contract Manager for Division of Student Affairs; Brought the Bobby Bowden Radio & Television Call-In Show to Oglesby Union; Brought in thousands in previously untapped revenue; Webmaster for Division of Student Affairs (and E-mail listservs); Handled surveys for Vice President, Union & other offices of FSU; Coordinated & published FSU Calendar of Events, Facility management, concerts, art center, games& bowling, leadership classes; Budgets: 52% student activity fees, 38% revenue & 10% university; Committees: Student Affairs Computing FSU CORE World Aids Day, Technology, College Values Institute; Public Safety Police Officer Selection Committee

Associate Director, Foy Union / Director of Student Activities

Foy Student Union, Student Affairs, Auburn University, Auburn, AL

Co-curricular programs served 200,000 people annually. Duties include entertainment and education programming; plus, counseling and instruction of students. Developed and supervised public relations, advertising, promotion and marketing activities (TV, radio, print, internet). Built budget from $185,000 to a level of $800,000 in seven years.

Supervised 2 assistant directors, 2 GAs, 2 secretaries, 60 student officers & 500 student volunteers.
UPC stressed leadership development & community service through out-of-classroom activity.
Produced concerts & major events: Reba McEntire, Allman Brothers, Hootie & The Blowfish, Arrested Development, Jeff Foxworthy and others. Responsible for the financial end of settlements, accounting, producing the revenue to pay for the concerts and events.
Event management & contract negotiation (100+ special events/240 other events annually).
Coordinate budgets & finances. Budget allocation exceeded $420,000+. Revenue = $400,000.
Manage facilities, fine arts, lectures, recreation, religious affairs and 11 other committees.
Chair, Homecoming & Alabama weekend Committees.

Camp ASCCA / Easter Seals

Alabama Easter Seal Society's Camp ASCCA Jackson's Gap, Alabama Hired as the first Public Relations Director. ASCCA [ Alabama's Special Camp for Children & Adults ] is the world’s largest outdoor recreation center for people with disabilities. Developed Long-Range Plan and Service delivery goals through the year 2000 within annual facility budgets averaging $800,000. Income derived through fund-raising, individual and client groups and legislative appropriations. Continue to serve on Advisory Committee. Camp ASCCA Responsibilities included:

Public speaking-over 1,000 events
Publish national newsletter - (c. 23,000)
Award winning videotape editing
Marketing of conference/retreat facilities
B & W photography
Produced annual report, plan annual meeting
Direct mail revenue rose 15%
Established ASCCA Alumni Society
Established perpetual funding of 1-800-THE CAMP toll-free number
Legislative contacts, appropriations, naming ASCCA State Highway

Originated , developed, supervised, and built the program. Fall 1993-February 1997. Developed programming & built studio. Auburn’s only daily TV program, 25,000+ homes.

Station Manager Auburn University's Radio Station

WEGL-FM 91.1, Auburn University. A 3,000-watt 24-hour educational radio station that covers 6 counties. Supervised staff of 215, reversed station image, increased volunteer involvement, computerized station operations for traffic and billing, emphasized station's use for enhancement of the student academic experience, coordinated funding/design of $300,000 new studio facilities.
