Watch The Blog! The Metamorphosis

Ah, the ‘blog’ is about to be transformed. Watch in wonder … The metamorphosis!

As part of our little project, our new blogging friend (and a great designer, by the way) Lisa will take us from a mere cocoon to a butterfly! Well, something like that …

… but ‘definitelynot like this!

I think you’ll like the new look. Comment when it is done, ok.

Hey, how else was I going to be able to work that Flash movie into a post? Multimedia Production, the Flash movie is for you! Kinda cool, huh? πŸ˜‰

  1. All done, Robert πŸ™‚

To get back ‘home’ from any of the pages, a user just needs to click the title graphic on any page and they’ll get back.

Check out the Site Stats under “About this site” – kinda nice πŸ™‚

Unless you notice anything major things broken here – you’re on your own! Enjoy the new digs, and thank you!

  2. I like the blog design overall. The only thing I would have done different is make the 2 main colors more striking (instead of the khakis). However, I really like the visuals and the overall theme.

  3. This is a pretty neat design. I think it captures the essence of what Robert is doing with the blogs. The book and glasses are a cool-looking graphic, and the smiley faces are a nice touch. Great job! Thanks.

  4. Robert,
I personally love what Lisa has done to your site. I prefer the “artsy” skin. Looks much better than the original infOpinions site (no offense Robert)! It now has a much cleaner look to it and is a site I would take more seriously than the original. You def got a great deal on the site which looks amazing. If I keep the blogging up post-graduation I will be getting in touch with her to design a site for me.

  5. I really like this approach to your blog. It adds a readable approach to the blog. It is eye catching and appealing. It gets boring when you read blogs that look similar, but this makes the blog unique. It’s a personalized touch. Lisa has done a wonderful job in capturing my attention with her template for your blog.

  6. I like this layout a lot. I think the graphics look good, but I don’t care for the “infOpinions” title and how it overlaps the text underneath it. I like the font for infOpinions but not the position. That is the only thing I think needs to be changed. I think this is a huge improvement from the last one, especially the ease of reading it.

  7. The blog metamorphosis was a complete success.
I love the new style and colors. The blog is easier to read and more approachable. The content appears more neat and not as messy. Thank you Lisa.

  8. Love the new look! I really like the skin called “specs.” To me, the blog entries are easier to read on the tan/grey background. I don’t really like the “Recent Comments” in the left column because it’s kind of distracting. Maybe if that section and the “recent posts” appeared at the bottom it’d be better….I think the Blogroll needs to be more visible. Other than that, it looks super! πŸ˜‰

  9. I like both of the blogs. I do think, however, if I was looking at the gray for a long time, the gray and white on the left would hurt my eyes. Otherwise, I like the design. Personally, I like the white one better. It seems more organized with the boxes. Also, I just like things a little more plain.

  10. I love the new design. I think it fits the purpose perfectly. We are doing these blogs for class and the glasses and book design is excellent. It kind of makes me want to be studious! But I’m not real sure if that is going to happen! πŸ˜† Just kidding!! I really do enjoy both designs. I am a little more partial to the orange design though, because that is my favorite color. So, most things that are orange, I take immediate liking to! I also enjoy the way both blogs are set up! It seems more simplistic and not so “All over the place.” It seems like all links have a place!! I think Lisa did an excellent job and I will keep her in mind if I need to buy a blog!! Great Job!!

  11. I think that Lisa’s work is very nice. I would like to have my own blog design, but unfortunately, as a college student, I have to spend $85 on other things. I think having your own blog design says something about you, and defines your personality. Robert’s new blog design is very appealing. The colors, graphics and fonts put a modern spin on things. I really like it!

  12. This is a professional skin. The colors are inviting and content is easier to read in this layout. It’s nice to see Robert finally exhibit some images in his blog instead of just text, text, text, and more text. Great job!

  13. I really do enjoy the new look you got going on here. I like both of the designs, but this default is the one I prefer. It gives you a sophisticated look! πŸ˜€ I enjoy the glasses, since I also have an eyesight issue. Long distance and I don’t really get along very well. The idea of two columns is a good one. It seems easier to look at than the previous design. Keep it up Robert, we love the improvement.

  14. I really like and I am really impressed by the new layout of Robert’s blog. Before i found it distracting, especially with all the orange, and this layout has a more soothing feel and professional look.

  15. I think the blog design looks great. (Much more creative than your original blog design-Sorry Robert). I have actually been considering contacting Lisa about getting the same package you got. I think for the work that she does, it is an AMAZING price. And I would like to have my blog after I graduate to keep the world updated on my PR career. It looks great. Very eye-catching. The colors are nice and not too out there.

  16. Thank You so very much Lisa, for all of your hard work. I really like your design. I would definately be interested in working with you in the future. I would love to personalize my blog, it makes a statement.
    Thanks Again

  17. The new skin looks great Robert. Thanks again to Lisa for being such a big help not only to Robert, but also to our class. It is very professional and eye-catching.

  18. Lisa,
The website is absolutely amazing. I really like the feel that it creates. It makes the sight a lot more readable and much more inviting. Thank you for all of your work!

  19. The new blog looks fabulous. A big thank you goes out to Lisa for all of her help to Robert and the rest of the class. I really like the “specs” skin. It looks professional, but is still eye-catching and easy to navigate. Thanks again Lisa!!

  20. The comments here are great – – even the ones offering constructive criticism πŸ™‚ I can say I’ve never had my work reviewed by a groupd of students studying the subject before . . this is a first, and a nice one, at that. πŸ™‚

Robert was a pleasure to work with — a very nice man that I’m sure you are all very happy to have as a teacher! I’ve told him that if I find myself in the local vicinity (Auburn) I’ll have to look him, and his class, up! Take care!

  21. Dear Lisa –

I really like your designs that you made for Robert. I think that they are very tastefully done. I believe that the colors and pictures you used are just enough…it’s just the right amount of graphics and colors without going over the top. You are very talented!!!

    Have a good one!

  22. I’m very impressed by the new site! The picture in the upper left-hand corner is very professional and makes the site look important. The colors compliment each other very well and the organization is superb. It is much easier to find what you’re looking for. Personally I like being able to see recent comments along the left side!

  23. The new blog looks great!! A big thank you goes out to Lisa for her amazing work and for being such a great resource for our class to learn from. I really like the “specs” skin. It looks professional, yet still eye-catching and easy to navigate. Thanks again Lisa!!

  24. I think that the new designs are good. They have a different look for those who like one or the other. I like both, but think the orange and blue one is more my style. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for us.

  25. Hi Lisa,
I think the websites you designed for Robert are wonderful. Especially the “ligher color” one. I think the orange and blue one is just a little to bright (I don’t think that is the word I am looking for); I think it has just a little too much white on it, but overall, I think the websites really add character to Robert’s blogs. Great job!

  26. I like the overall changes, especially the “specs” skin, it looks very professional and I’m impressed to say the least. Honestly though, I think you may need to do something more to offset the orange in the “orange” skin, maybe the use of some more navy blue [Robert, I swear this is not the Auburn fan in me speaking, though I could be wrong].

  27. Lisa,
Your design looks very good!! It definitely looks better than Robert’s past blog design. It looks very mellowed out with the colors. Maybe now people will actually go to the site and look at it, because of the new wonderful design.

  28. I really liked Lisa’s work. I enjoyed the skin entitled “spec” better than the orange blue skin, but I understand the importance of the colors after attending Auburn. With the new designs it really gives Robert’s site a very professional look.

  29. I really like both of the skins that you have created for Robert. The colors flow really well, especially in the taupe colored one. It fits Robert well and of course he loves them. If he’s happy we’re happy. thanks.

  30. brother of mine = why, on my computer, is your site to big to fit on the screen? of course it is me.

  31. hey, sister of mine — good point! I should make a note to say that this site is best viewed at 1024×768 resolution … cause the ‘skin’ renders out at just a weeee bit over 800 pixels (about 850px) … thanks, karen
