We’re No. 1 when it comes to book trends
It’s not nice to brag.
However, what San Franciscan would not rejoice — clutching a glass of Pinot Noir in one hand and a volume of poetry in the other (as indicated by the 2003 federal study showing we spend more on books and booze than any other U.S. city) — on hearing the seven little words uttered last month by the new editor of the New York Times Book Review?
