Women of PR/Marcom Blog and Upgrade/Redesign of Site

31 May 2005 4 views No Comment

infOpinions? / AuburnMedia has started a new aggregator blog.

Women of PR / Marcom is was an aggregator of some of the best PR blogs out there. That blog is now down.
I would now suggest you check out this page with a listing of many women in PR / Comm blogging.

What’s so special? Well, these are the blogs authored by women in PR / Marcom. Why? Because my classes are often 90% female students and only 20% of the PR blogs are authored by women. So, I want to give them role models. :) The easiest way to lead the students to their blogs is to consolidate excerpts in one place and provide a link directly to the contributor’s blog posts. So, that’s what I’ve done.

I know the authors we are highlighting might chuckle when they read that, but I like their blogs. I think my students will, too. Also, I want my students to become familiar with a wide variety of blog styles.

So far, the four people that have agreed to let me syndicate their writing are:

Elizabeth Albrycht, Toby Bloomberg, Catherine Helzerman, Paloma Cruz.

Thank you to all four professionals. We appreciate your contributions.

Now, on another front – the AuburnMedia.com site has been retooled. It features a CivicSpace installation. We’ll likely use it for an example site for some pending campaigns. Check it out. Watch it grow. Of course, if the client wants it to remain private, we’ll be putting the whole thing under password protection – or move it elsewhere.
