Hispanic Research and A Newsletter I Enjoy :: MediaPost’s Center for Media Research Brief
According to the third annual AOL/Roper Hispanic Cyberstudy, U.S. Hispanics with Internet access at home are rapidly adopting broadband, with half of online Hispanics going online over high-speed connections at home. That’s on par to the share of the general online population with broadband at home, and comes despite the fact that Hispanics are relatively newer to the Internet, the survey found.
I found this particularly interesting as Auburn just held their first public, citywide Hispanic festival. It received wide play in the local press. The hispanic population seems to have grown in direct proportion to the growth rate of our local economy. Auburn has experienced approximately 15% annual growth for several years now. Many members of the growing Hispanic community work in new businesses (restaurants and construction, especially).
