Just one today. How interesting? Traditional media – more and more – is trying out blogs and other social media to help stem the erosion of their audience. All the more interesting because this topic was the highlight of a conference call last week and a long discussion we had in Survey Research class. The Houston Chronicle is no small newspaper. Most of the recent efforts along this line have come in medium and smaller publications.

RSS NewsRiver is a new RSS aggregator and OPML editor from Dave Winer. It is apparently in that always beta testing phase. Currently when someone uses it to check your feed, it provides a referrer link back to a post in Dave Winer’s blog.

A new (to me) example of blogs in the HigherEd classroom, in this batch of links. Jane Gibson Natt, Assistant Professor, in the Department of Communication at Purdue University is using blogs in her Advanced Newswriting (COM462) class this semester. Great to see this happening.
Also, we have more examples of colleges and universities using weblogs in marketing (recruitment efforts) from a Chicago Tribune article (via Bloggers Blog).
