Elizabeth Albrycht has an interesting post at CorporatePR about memes.
A visitor, Tina Lang-Stuart, suggested the links below. Good reading. Check them out.
A funny aside is that one of my students, Katie, commented that I had just tried “to explain to his survey research class what a meme is. I still do not understand what a meme is or how it is supposed to be used. I would like to know more about it though.”
Guess I didn’t do too hot of a job on that explanation, huh?
Well, back to the drawing boards. Perhaps Elizabeth will provide some help. I told her once that I thought she should be teaching. Maybe she’ll come to Auburn. The students would be well-served by her knowledge.

Instant feedback is a wonderful thing, right Robert? I will indeed be writing more on memes as soon as I feel smarter about them.
I am also moving forward on the teaching front (credentialling first!) – and I’d love to come to Auburn one of these days. It is just a little far away for me to pop on over at this point.
Hey Elizabeth,
Feedback is great … and unfiltered feedback in such an honest way is even better. I learned from it and it was funny.
Enjoyed your article and look forward to the future posts. I’ll read more, too, in pursuit of that ‘smarter’ goal. Memes are interesting. You should contact Nova Spivak. He has written about them often. A very bright guy. His grandfather was Peter Drucker, too, so Nova comes from a long family line of great thinkers.
Glad to hear you’re moving toward teaching. Academia will be better for it.
Versailles, France to Auburn, Alabama? Oh, just a little trip.
But, if you ever find yourself headed to Atlanta, let us know. We can come up or you can take the short 90 minute trip (if a student drives – yikes!) down I-85 to Auburn.
Take care.
(I must ween myself from these emoticons. It is a sickness.)
