ACA President Launches Blog

December 19, 2006 by Robert

Dr. Tyrone Adams, president of the American Communication Association (ACA, 2005-2006) has started a blog. ACA - Communication Technology Review. Tyrone is “(r)eviewing computer-mediated technologies and new media as they impact the field of communication.” Emmett Winn shared the news via email this morning.

ACA is committed to enabling the effective use of new and evolving technologies to facilitate communication instruction, research and criticism

Tyrone teaches at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Check out his bio here. Tyrone Adams holds the Richard D’Aquin/BORSF Professorship in Journalism.

He is a lover of communication technology. His first posts cover Skype, iPhone, Dell and the Venice Project. True to the cajun spirit of his university, Tyrone posts to the blog under the nickname of “Swampboy.”

I hope you’ll visit his blog and offer encouragement. The more communication educators we have blogging, the better, in my opinion.

The ACA has a journal and it is online and free. American Communication Journal.
