George, We Love You

June 23, 2008 by Robert

Just think for a moment about what happened last night. George Carlin met Saint Peter at the Gate.

Heaven will never be the same. And that’s a good thing.

Come on, you know he got in. He made so many so happy.

Of course, they had to drag him in … screaming and kicking.

But, it is the biggest room he’ll ever play. ;)

George was unique, a comedic genius, a giant. He was the court jester who parodied society and our taboos, and made us more closely examine our most cherished beliefs and institutions. I’m sure Jesus — not one to shy away from exposing hypocrisy in his day — welcomed George with open arms and said, “Well done, good and faithful one.”

Here’s a great post about George Carlin’s views on writing:

    Thanks, Andrew. Totally agree.

Also, I appreciate you sharing the Copyblogger article on George Carlin, as well as the Psychology Today interview with Carlin, which sadly turned out to be his last.

Both are wonderful examples for students. Thanks for sharing!
