Experiential PR – Content Marketing & Brand Journalism
Well, Auburn University started doing it – and Auburn students started getting real-world experience doing it — before it was cool.Back in 2009, the phrases content marketing and brand journalism either didn’t exist (brand journalism) or weren’t being used very much at all (content marketing) … so says Google Trends.

Since then, our students have posted published thousands of stories and bits of multimedia. They have brought in millions of pageviews. All along they were gaining writing and creative experience, too. This is experiential education based upon both the traditional theories of PR and the latest theories of the discipline, too.
I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking that’s a good thing.
As for our website’s title, Auburn Family, we realize the phrase is associated with the overall Auburn University brand … and Auburn Athletics. However, I think we done our part in helping spread the word about Auburn.
